Difference between a type and item?

• Types are fields you’ll create an appointment/job for, such as a pool cleaning. These are appointment and Service types.

An item is either a product such as liquid chlorine or can be a service such as a filter cleaning.

When you create an appointment, you can only choose 1 service. To create an appointment for multiple services, such as a Pool opening and filter cleaning, you can set up the appointment as a Pool Opening. Then, you can add the filter cleaning as an inventory item.

Inventory Items can be actual items like chlorine or a service such as a filter cleaning. Thus, a filter cleaning can be both a type and an item. 

• To make the Filter Cleaning Service an Item, you will add an inventory item, even if it already is a Type.

Now, you can add that additional filter cleaning service on to the appointment instead of creating two appointments for the same day. Being able to add an inventory item service allows you to stay organized.
